I am a `regular’ guy fly fisher; just like most of you reading this bio. My fishing excursions are not nearly often enough and never full of the excitement you read about in the monthly rags. However, there is not a single outing that I have had that I would trade for one of those stories. I fish because I love to do so. I love the places I visit, the people I am with and the stories I make up about what happen. I often believe that I embody the words in this verse: Simon Peter said, “I’m going fishing.” “We’ll come, too,” they all said. So they went out in the boat, but they caught nothing all night. ~John 21:3
Joe spent his formative years and the next 30 fishing the creeks, rivers, ponds, and lakes of central Texas. He now makes his home in Bozeman, Montana and is extremely excited to see if he can avoid this modern parable while standing on the Madison: “There’s a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot.” You can find Joe’s contribution to the fly fishing community by visiting his website, Fly Recipes [dot] com.
